THE
BREEDING UNITS
THE
REARING UNITS AND OUTDOOR RUNS
Each breeding unit
is
divided into two distinct
parts.
The first contains the pheasant and partridge breeding pens.
We have buildings
and outdoor runs in which we rear our future breeding stock and pheasant
and partridge poults.
Outdoor runs are attached
to the rearing building, into which pheasants and partridges are turned
out from the 3rd or 4th week.
At about the 6th week (weather conditions permitting) pheasants and partridges
are released into large outdoor pens.
The second has a specific
building, designed in accordance with Department veterinary service requirements.
Here the eggs are sorted, washed, disinfected and packed in trays.
