The hatchery at L'envol de Retz has a hatching capacity of one million eggs.    
 
Incubation
The hatchery
The eggs are placed in an incubator for 21 days.
Pheasants on Thursdays.
Partridges on Fridays.
It conforms to the latest recommendations of the French Hatcheries Association.
To enable us to meet all your requirements, it is equipped with the latest incubators and hatchers of different capacities.
Scanning
At twelve days the eggs are scanned to check fertility levels on each of our farms.
We also check the samples from each batch of pheasant and partridge eggs delivered to our customers.
Exclusively reserved for game production, conforming to the latest official standards and approved by the Department veterinary services, the hatchery is a key part of our organisation. It enables us to supply you with top quality pheasant and partridge eggs and day-old chicks
Transfer
The hatchery is located at Saint Jean de Monts in the Vendée and is some distance away from the production area to give us better control of health conditions.

After 21 days' incubation, the eggs are transferred.
Pheasants on Thursdays and partridges on Fridays.
The hatcher compartments are marked by species, breed and farm number.

Before delivery to the hatchery, all eggs are inspected at our collection centre.
Hatching
Hatching take place on Mondays.
Chicks are sorted and packed into specially designed cardboard boxes for transport.
Egg reception at the hatchery

At reception, the pheasant and partridge eggs are placed on a grille, sorted by farm number, species and breed.
They are then placed on turning racks in a temperature and humidity-controlled room.

Dispatch

Once hatching and boxing are complete, the chicks are loaded into specially designed vehicles and delivered
within 24 hours.
